Guest Room Makeover - www.suzy-homemaker.co.uk

Save those unforeseen, yet nevertheless inevitable, additions and re-arranging of "stuff" (oh! and a new light fitting!), OneandSeventy's Guest Room makeover is pretty much complete.


After a stunning transformation from Fairytale Castle to Cool Monochrome, it was time to accessorise. If you missed it, you can catch up on the story so far here and here.


When I first visualised this primarily black and white room, I knew it needed a pop of colour to bring it alive. IKEA's funky Bollkaktus curtains were perfect. So much so, that Beloved drove 200 miles and braved "The Nasty Shop" not once, but twice to buy these babies! (Translation: it pays to check product availability before setting out! Sorry darling!)

Kelly Hoppen Inspired Cushions for under a tenner - www.suzy-homemaker.com

I just adore Kelly Hoppen. I mean, who wouldn't? She is a design genius, not to mention an inspirational business woman. From her furniture, to her fabrics, to her accents. It's all utterly gorgeous.

For pity's sake, I even love the woman's hair! (Shades of memories past perhaps?)

Cutting Board and Rotary Cutter - www.suzy-homemaker.co.uk

Some time in my dim and distant past, I remember being given a vintage Singer sewing machine.  

I was a tomboy, used to climbing trees. I didn’t have the slightest idea about using a sewing machine and I had zero interest in learning.  I was also far too young to appreciate the beauty of such a fabulous piece, although now I wish I had. 

The vintage Singer is long gone, but she sure was pretty, huh?
